It focuses on five foundational reading skills: phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. Ooka Islands Adaptive Reading Platform uses continuous formative assessment to adjust instruction and adapt to individual reading levels.
Ooka Island includes 85 levelled eBooks with highlighting and supportive narration. Students read each text twice, followed by concept of word, vocabulary, and comprehension activities.
